On February 20, Governor Schwarzenegger signed a spending plan aimed at addressing the state’s worsening budget crisis. The final agreement includes a total of $41.6 billion in “solutions” - $30.3 billion to balance the 2009-10 budget and $11.3 billion to close the gap projected for the remainder of 2008-09.
